A Letter from Austin
April 2008
G’day from Australia!
It is autumn now here and the leaves are changing. Did you know our
seasons are the opposite of those in the States? I just finished my
softball season. I had a real good year with a lot of hits and
stolen bases. Our team, the Jerra Bombers, went from next to last in
the standings to second place in our division. I got a real nice
trophy and medallion. My dad is the coach. He does a great job! I
hope he coaches us next year. Now I am busy running cross-country. I
placed third at our school’s meet and qualified for the district
meet. Let’s hope I do very well. Things are picking up at church. We
had 16 kids in Children’s Church on Palm Sunday. We had this great
Easter Eggstravaganza where we had to find Easter eggs and played
some fun games with eggs. My mum teaches our class. We have a lot of
fun and learn a lot. I still am trying to reach my friends for
Christ. It was so cool that I helped my mum and dad with our church
booth at the Autumn Fair this year. We made these bead bracelets and
told the Gospel story with them. I hope these kids will come to
church and get saved. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I got
baptised back in January. Last year I realised that I may have not
really gotten saved when I was really little so a year ago I asked
Jesus to come into my heart and save me. This January my daddy got
to baptise me along with another girl from our church. I am so glad
I did what the Lord asked me to do!! Thank you so much for praying
for me. I have now lived more in Australia than back in the States.
I do miss my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins very much but I
like being an Aussie!!!
Love, Austin
