Down Under

Autumn in Australia
We are very fortunate to live in one of the areas of Australia that enjoys all four seasons, even though they are the opposite of the States. We have here some of the most beautiful and colorful trees in the nation. To take advantage of the gorgeous weather, Dwayne took the men on a men’s fishing retreat. It ended up being a men’s retreat with one girl since one of the men had to bring his daughter at the last minute. It turned out great because Austin had someone there near his own age. The men enjoyed a day out on Lake Jindabyne in the Great Snowy Mountains. Even though they didn’t catch any fish they had a great time. Dwayne brought several encouraging devotions to the men on “being an anchor” in your home and family. Pray that these three men will apply what they heard on the retreat. The ladies had a great craft night the end of April. We have renamed the night as “Unwind and Design Night”. The women really like the name. It is a time to unwind from the busyness of the day and create something pretty and useful. In April the ladies made wooden desk clocks. We were so thrilled to have 12 women attend. This was the most we have ever had for a craft night. Seven of the ladies were there for the first time. Many had heard about us and signed up at the Autumn Fair in March. Valerie did a devotion on “Redeeming the Time” for the ladies. Pray that this challenge spoke to the hearts of the women and they will continue to come to our monthly craft nights. We also held our Thursday night prayer meetings each week with an average of three people attending. Even though this is a small number, it is so refreshing to see some of our people coming out in the cold to pray for our ministry and others. We hope our numbers will grow soon.

Moving Ahead
In order to eventually purchase land and build a building our ministry must be incorporated. The first step in this process was to have a business meeting. Our first meeting went very well. Our people decided to go ahead with the incorporation. Eventually, we will change our name from Baptist Fellowship Outreach to Fellowship Baptist Church as part of the incorporation. We are praying that some land will be released soon and that we can obtain the finances needed to begin the next step in obtaining it. We would appreciate your prayers in this matter. We will be letterboxing this week to over 2650 homes. Pray that the people who will receive our brochures will read them and decide to visit our ministry. Once again we ask for prayer concerning our financial situation. The Aussie dollar has reached more highs in the past month. There are reports on the news almost every night about the increasing prices of groceries and fuel. We have very little purchasing power now. We praise the Lord that He continues to provide for us through faithful churches like yours. Thank you again for your prayers and support each month. We are so thankful for you.
