A New Year, New Opportunities . .
.
After a wonderful time with Dwayne’s
brother and his family and our annual family camping trip to the
beach, we are rested up and rejuvenated to tackle another busy
ministry year. Many of our church people were out of town as
well so it’s so good to have everyone back now. It was also good
to see our people step up to the plate and run the service in
our absence. One man told us that he had a much greater
appreciation for all we do every Sunday of the year. Our
leadership team got together yesterday to plan our first
quarter. We will kick our outreach events off this Sunday with a
Back-to-School Sunday. Our youth are going to host the entire
worship service this Sunday. They will be doing everything from
preparing the food for afternoon tea to leading the music. We
have a youth speaker coming to bring the message. We will be
giving every school age child who attends a bag with school
supplies and a Gospel tract. The local school has advertised our
event in their newsletter this week so we’re praying for a good
turnout and a great outreach into our community. Pray for Dwayne
as he takes a group of men to a Christian Men’s Conference
several hours north of here the end of this month. We hope that
all who attend will grow in their relationships with the Lord,
their wives and their children as a result of attending this
conference. On the 15th Valerie will begin a Ladies Bible Study.
Dwayne’s Men’s Bible Study will begin the following week. Pray
that we get a lot of participation this year and that our people
will grow in their relationship with the Lord. Valerie will also
start training a new team of 6th graders for her FANTASTIX drama
team. She will be choreographing a new routine for them to
perform at the school’s Easter assembly. We are very thankful
that some new families have been visiting our services recently.
One family has expressed an interest in getting involved in our
music and children’s ministries, which is a huge blessing.
Please pray for Austin as he goes to a new school. He just
started Grade 7 which is high school here in Australia.
Most of all, please pray that this will be the year that many
souls will be saved here like never before. We have spent a
tremendous amount of time building relationships with our
neighbours and friends. We’re praying that they will ask the
Lord into their hearts very soon! Thank you so much!
Thank You
Thank you so very much for praying for
Valerie’s sister-in-law, Lisa Eaker, back in North Carolina. She
had a tumor removed near her brain last month. We are so
thankful that the tumor was not cancerous. Please continue to
pray for Lisa as she recovers and is still dealing with some bad
headaches.
Prayer Request
The Aussie dollar is still very strong
which means we are getting less each month for our support. We
have a lot of expenses coming up soon so please pray for God’s
provision.
- Medical/dental – both Dwayne and
Valerie have long overdue dentist visits they need to make.
Austin needs to see an orthodontist and has been told he
will probably need braces. Valerie needs to purchase
much-needed multi-focal eyeglasses very soon.
- Living Expenses – rent is due to
go up and our car insurance is due in two months.
