So Many Praises . . .
We are praising the Lord for the great and mighty things He is
doing here in Jerrabomberra. Last month we began the stick drama
training at the local public school. We are so thrilled to have
21 6th-grade girls on the team! The girls are really enjoying
the practices and some have even memorized the song! Please be
in prayer that this unique Easter presentation will be
well-received at the school’s Easter assemblies and at the local
autumn fair. Our Hawaiian Luau went fabulously. We had 23 people
attend, including several people who do not attend our church.
We are still receiving positive comments about the evening. Even
ones like “Do Christians usually do this sort of thing at home
and have that much fun!” It was a great time for people to
fellowship with one another in a very non-threatening
environment. For the next few months, we plan to focus on
individual families, having them over for dinner, and really
work on building those relationships one-on-one. Seven ladies
participated in our Autumn Craft Night. Two were first-timers.
Valerie started out the craft time with a devotion on “The
Harvest,” since we are now entering our autumn season here. Tan
followed the Lord in believer’s baptism the first day of March.
10 people came that day to join him in this joyous celebration.
The baptism was held at Lake Burley Griffin followed by a family
barbecue. We were so happy to see five new guests in our
services this past Sunday. We had an attendance of 20 which is
our highest for just a regular Sunday without any special events
happening. Valerie had 7 children in her children’s church
class. Please be in prayer that these two families will join us
again and we will be able to reach them for Jesus Christ.
Valerie also had three ladies begin a new ladies Bible Study
this past Sunday. They will be studying the lives of Ruth and
Hannah. Pray for their spiritual walk.
Special Prayer Requests
Please be in prayer for the many events we have
coming up this month. Continue praying that the girls will learn
their routine and that the Easter message will speak to their
hearts as well as the people who see it. We will be inviting the
children in our community to an Easter Eggstravaganza on Palm
Sunday. Along with collecting surprises in their Easter eggs,
each child will receive some Easter scriptures and an Easter
tract. We will be having a special Palm Sunday service as well
as a special Easter service. On the 29th of the month, we are
going to set up a booth for the ministry at the local Rotary
Club’s autumn fair. We plan to pass out free Bibles, Gospel
tracts and information about our ministry. Our drama team will
be performing there as well that morning. We also ask that you
pray for our finances. The Aussie dollar reached a 24-year high
and our weekly rent is going up next month. We are not in a
position to go home and raise new support. We appreciate your
faithful prayers and support!
