Special Prayer Request

Monday, April 07, 2008

Dear Friends,

I want to thank all of you for your prayers for us. We saw the Dr. on Thursday and he is very pleased with the results so far. He says that for someone with my disease I'm in the best possible position I could be in for getting it into remission.

Round 3 starts next Today. I go into the hospital as an outpatient each day for 4 days and then the 5th day I just take tablets. The first 3 or 4 days after the treatment are days with no energy. Just walking from the bedroom to the kitchen wears me out. But then each day I start to get a little stronger. And by the time I'm feeling almost normal it is time for the next round.

I preach almost every Sunday and keep up with discipleship classes and home groups. The Lord is really blessing our church right now. We had an unsaved man come to the men's group that meets at McDonalds each Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m. He is planning to do the study with us. Pray for him, his name is Chris.

Again thank you so much for your prayers. Thank you for praying for Linda, she needs them more than I do.

Randy

To all our supporting Pastor's, Churches and Friends,

Several people have been asking how I'm doing, so I thought I should send out an update. I finished the first week of Chemo last Saturday. I preached on Sunday and so far have been able to keep up with everything, (except one early morning discipleship group). I haven't been as sick as I thought I would be.

The church is doing really well, the level of love has risen considerably. God is up to something Good. Thank you so much for your prayers and love.

I start the second week of Chemo on the 17th of March. Thank you for all your emails and encouragement.

Dear praying friends,

This is not the best news but I wanted to let you know that I have been having a lot of medical tests to find out why I have been feeling unwell. The doctors have diagnosed the condition just this week as Multiple Myeloma which is a cancer of the plasma cells in the blood. It affects the bone marrow and bones.

They will do a bone marrow biopsy next Thursday (14th) which will help them determine which kind of Myeloma it is. Some kinds are harder to treat than others. The good news is that depending on which kind of bad cells they are it can be treated and many live fairly normal lives for years.

I know you will be praying and I really appreciate that. Of course I'm praying that God will heal me, but if that is not His plan that He will use me thru the whole process to be His witness. So thank you in advance for your prayers.

Until all have heard,
Randy & Linda Perkins
