School News

      During our two week school break we had the joy of having Miss Mary Herman teach our Sunday school teachers as well as those interested in teaching Sunday school. She also taught a two session seminar for our elementary teachers.
      Through-out the week she taught seminars and on Saturday invited several of our public school teachers. On Sunday afternoon Miss Herman taught a “catch-up” session for those who could make it to all the sessions.
      If you have an opportunity to have Miss Herman with you it will be a blessing to you and your people. Miss Herman got to hold the first classes in our new building. She was a wonderful blessing to us.

We Made It!

      Praise the Lord! On Sunday the 21st of June we had the dedication of Grace Bible Baptist Church’s new building. We awoke to rain on Sunday morning. How many would come with heavy rain? Lynn and our church ladies had prepared to feed 400 to 450 people.
      Our people arrived early and an hour before starting we already had over a hundred people! Glory!
      Services started with more rain but people kept coming. The crowd filled our sanctuary and began overflowing into entrance hallway. They kept coming until our hall was filled. Next they filled in under the eve outside the building.
  This missionary couple was EXCITED! Our people had asked me to include a brief Baptist and church history in the dedication.
       Our people told us before services “Pasta we started building in the rain. We’ve built the building in much rain so it’s appropriate that we dedicate it in the rain but the Lord has put sunshine in our hearts.
      Vanuatu’s newspaper, Daily Post, gave us a full page coverage complete with color photos in the paper.

      Prayer and Praise

Praise – 435 in Attendance for the Dedication Service
Prayer –  Many indicated needs in their lives at Dedication service. Pray that they will act. 
Prayer – For Ari ,Jim and family as they
travel on furlough.
Praise – Many who had never been involved sang and gave testimonies during the Dedication
Prayer – Jim and Ari’s renewal has hit a snag with the Labour commissioner he wants input from the Vanuatu Council of Churches (VCC). This is a serious problem and may very well affect our renewal as well.
Praise-Prayer – For the many 100’s of first time visitors last week. Pray that some will become Fruit to your account Prayer – We are praying for five new families to be saved and added to the church from the school ministry.
Praise –  Youth meetings and the outreach at the teacher’s training college continues to grow.
