About Us

Jonathan and Roberta Steffy were approved as Baptist Bible Fellowship missionaries to the Philippines in May 1988. They changed their field of service in September 2009 to New Zealand. Jonathan is a 1986 graduate of the missions course of Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri, and Roberta is a 1983 graduate of the missions course of BBC. They served their internship at the Lakeland Baptist Temple in Eastlake, Ohio, where Jonathan was ordained in 1987. Jonathan is the son of David and Uldine Steffy, veteran BBF missionaries to the Philippines. Jonathan and Roberta have two daughters.

Cindy will be going to college soon and Esther is our little “squirt”.

Many Filipinos have immigrated to New Zealand. The people are very dear to our hearts. We know about a young lady from our ministry in the Philippines who is among those who immigrated a few years ago as a nurse.  She has conveyed  to us how she cannot find a church in Auckland like ours.

Since then we heard about a man who used to work on my church staff in the Philippines who also recently immigrated to New Zealand as a worker and now lives in Auckland. He also cannot find a church like ours. He and a few others are meeting for Bible Study and Prayer.

This disturbs us because we see so many Filipinos there like this man without a pastor to guide them. They need us there now! The knowledge of this is pressing us with great urgency. Please pray that we can go soon and help us financially so that we can go.
