Aaron Sullivan

Missionary Kid (MK) from Australia

June 2006

Well, it's been a while since I last checked in. I want to thank everyone for keeping my parents and myself in your prayers. It's always appreciated and believe me, it's also noticed.

Last time I reported I was just graduating US Army Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. Since then, I've been to Ft. Eustis in New Port News, Virginia where I completed my job training. My MOS, or Military Occupational Specialty, is 15T Blackhawk Helicopter Repairer. The course gives you basic knowledge on the servicing and maintenance of the UH-60 Blackhawk.

From there I continued to Ft. Benning, Georgia for Airborne Training. I know, I know, why would someone want to jump from a perfectly good airplane? Well, let's just say that it's a rush!!! After the completion of that school in May of '04, I was stationed with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. This is one of the Army's only airborne units.

After spending some time in a maintenance company, I was transferred to a flight company where I started my time as a crew chief. I now fly with the helicopter at all times and also serve as the door gunner, and have the full responsibility for the pax, or passengers, riding along with us. It really is the realization of a dream. I absolutely love my job and am now going to start on my flight school application so, hopefully, soon I'll be able to be on the controls. After three years I still look forward to going to work almost every day.

I've also had the much enjoyed chance to take a month of leave and go home to see my parents. It was really great to see where they're at now, and the new work that is growing there. It was my first time back in Australia in three years. Sure was good to be back!

Once again, I want to thank you for the faithful support that you've provided my family.

Sincerely yours,

Aaron Sullivan
