Furlough News: Good News on David, A Funeral, And Mileage |
| TRAVEL NEWS: As of the writing of this
letter we are Stateside and traveling on a 4 1/2 month
furlough. In our first eleven weeks here in the States
we have traveled over 13,000 miles, Whew! We are FULLY
booked out until mid November when we fly back to New
Zealand. The Lord has been so good and we have had
some tremendous meetings and a wonderful time challenging
others to participate in World Missions. We had set
goals for our furlough and it has been a real challenge to
meet the mark - please pray we'll be able to accomplish all
we have set out to do. |
FAMILY FUNERAL: It is so true that God directs our
daily paths! Little did I know that when I visited by
brother, Charles Walker, while in Montana - it would be the
final time to be together here on Earth. About ten
days after our visit in July of this year, I received a
phone call that he had suddenly passed away. I have
grieved the loss of mh Dad on our last furlough, and now my
brother. The good news is that I have the assurance he
is at peace and one day, we will be reunited again. I
am thankful that we had that short time together-God truly
directed my path.

UPDATE:
David's Medical Condition
We finally have a name for David's
condition. It is call "Lambl's
Excrescences." Doctors are divided about
heart surgery at this time, but the bulk of the body
of evidence, including Mayo Clinic, is that he NOT
have open heart surgery. He will continue on
blood thinners and we will trust the Lord to take
care of the rest. Please continue to pray for
him, and thank you for your many prayers. |

| TREMENDOUS NEED/PROJECT: One of the
greatest needs we have at this time is to raise $15,000 for
building programs for our ministry. Thank you to Bro
Dennis and his people for helping with the first $5,000
- Another lady gave us $1,000 - we now
need to raise only $9,000. Please pray for us as
this is a real and immediate need. If you
would help, simply mark it - "Walkers: Building Programs"
and forward it to the Missions Officeand they will
make sure it gets to us. |
| PRAY FOR MY MOM: We would ask that you pray for
my mom, Carol Walker. She is 72 and took a very bad
fall just a few weeks after my brother's death. She
broke her leg (spiral break) and has had surgery at a trauma
center in Oklahoma City. She has diabetes and other
medical conditions that are of concern while she is
recovering and has been given 12 weeks to be fully recovered
for independent living again. This will be a challenge
and if she cannot comply, she will be placed in nursing
care. Please pray for strength, that she might be
fully recovered in time. |
